HALPERN LAW, P.C.
New York Real Estate and Estate Planning Lawyer
Meet our Managing Partner
Samara I. Halpern, Esq.
My diverse legal background spans two decades. I have known since I was twelve years old that I wanted to become a lawyer. I started my career as a receptionist for a law firm before I obtained a Paralegal certificate. I attended law school at night while maintaining a full-time position as a paralegal with the United States Attorney’s Office - Eastern District of New York. I had the opportunity to work alongside the Federal Prosecutors on high-profile white-collar crime cases.
I graduated from law school and worked as a civil litigator for a mid-sized law firm on Long Island before joining the New York City Police Department.
My career with the NYPD began as an Agency Attorney, prior to attending the Police Academy and having the privilege of serving NYC as a Police Officer. I worked in one of the many legal units at Police Headquarters. I am frequently asked why I switched from being an attorney to a police officer. I loved my job with the NYPD, and I believed that transitioning to a career in law enforcement would provide better opportunities for professional development and allow me to serve the community more effectively as both a police officer and an attorney.
As a police officer, I witnessed the other side of the law, which made me more aware of the importance of effective communication. I realized the need to explain the law to people, inform them about its implications, and clarify what was expected of them
Halpern Law, P.C. was established with a focus on real estate and estate planning. My goal is to leverage my experience to help clients understand how the law can protect them and their families, and help them achieve their long-term goals. I strive to provide excellent customer service and aim to be your attorney for life.
In my spare time, I take my role as “Aunt Sami” very seriously, and prioritize time with family. I also enjoy woodworking, DIY projects around the house, traveling, and hiking.
